Around Inverloch | French Island | Around Toora | Shaun's Hometown | Inverloch Movies | Our Date
Saturday Night was our last night together. We decided to go into town and see about catching a movie and dinner and then go for a walk.

"Into town" is a relative term. It meant drive to the next tiny town. There aren't too many things to do at night in the area, except walk. Walking is very noyce. (Shaun's accent is fun to listen to. Instead of "Nice" he says "Noyce". "Ahhh very noyce" Makes me smile.

The only things playing were "Three Kings" which I walked out of in the states, and Anna and the king - which Shaun and I both opted out of because of the reviews. So we went to dinner.

While in the hotel restaurant, (pub?), another "couple" walked in. A tall blonde (6'3") skinny boy about 16 or 18 with what appeared to be his equally blonde mother. I giggled at the irony and pointed them out to Shaun saying "Oh look, another couple". He laughed and toyed with the idea of inviting them to our table just to see the reaction. :-) It would have been funny.

We came home and began the sad task of packing up to leave. You aren't going to believe this next bit, but it is the God's honest truth. While we were packing and cleaning, there started a bunch of noise outside. It was a Saturday night and I figured it was the weekenders letting off steam or something. Shaun yells for me to come outside. Over our cabin was a full display of commercial - grade fireworks. Like there was a holiday. Or like there was a festival. Or like it had been advertised. The sky lit up for about 5 minutes with terrific fireworks.

Once I was aware that they were fireworks, it felt like

"someone up there" or "out there" approved of the union, and was cheering the marriage and giving their blessings and giving us some joy as the goodbye tears were welling up again.

The next morning we were packed and out the door at 7:30am. There were several breath-taking spots along the way, just west of the Prom. We stopped to soak it all in more than once. This goodbye stuff just gets harder and harder.

Shaun kept saying "four months, that's all we have to wait, just four months" and I kept thinking, "I know better than that. this will take forever".
