WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 26th
The next day, Thursday September 27th, we went into Alice Springs to do some souvenir shopping. We stopped by the Royal Flying Doctor Base. There wasn't much to see there but it was somewhat interesting. We saw a film and I donated some money to the worthy cause. That made me feel good :-)
We left the Kings Canyon and headed to Ross River Homestead. There was some sort of screw up and we weren't
able to do all we thought we were going to do. The tour company or someone forgot to reserve our group for activities.
We were unable to do the boomerang toss, stock whip cracking, billy tea and damper and other things we were looking forward to. Also, the septic tank overflowed and it stank pretty bad.
I did however get to see this great bird. THe picture isn't very good but I loved it. Actually, none of the pictures are as good as the real thing. We stayed over night there. We played this game with blindfolds and soft stick like things. I liked that game cuz I got to hit people and I won. :-)
You just can't beat being there in person.
