Leslie Anne's "costume" caught a severe eye from the school marm who said she looked like a gypsy in her get-up. She was wearing her USA bandana and her USA shirt and jeans.

Their first lesson was to copy from the board, in their best handwriting, using a real ink well and quill. As they were leaving school, they were instructed to line up for a whipping with the *strap*. They all lined up behind LA. No whipping took place but all the kids got to have a taste of what school in the 1850's might entail.
