We toured the Ballarat Fine Arts Museum last. Some of the art was impressive. However, there were a couple of rooms of art which we just didn't *get*. Modern Art I guess. Looked like something the kids did in grade school, only not so good :-). We took pictures of them. We discovered later that we were not supposed to. oops. But, when we got home and had a look at our pictures, we discovered Shaun's favorite had a face under the smudges. Look closely, you can see an eye. LA's favorite still looks like a five minute grey wash to me.

We almost left without seeing what we came for. We had to ask where it was. In an off-the-beaten track room, way back at the end, taking up the whole wall, was the tattered original Australian Flag, the Southern Cross. THere were several pieces missing behind the frame, but it was impressive none the less. All Australians should see this flag!
